DealExtreme is Terrible

I initially placed an order for FOUR items on DealExtreme on the morning of November 7th, 2010. And today is now the evening of January 15th, 2011. I’ve gotten two separate packages so far… the first one arrived after 4 or 5 weeks of waiting, and it had two of the items I ordered, not all four. I guess that’s understandable as some items come from different locations and I just assumed I would get my remaining items in a short matter of time. However after a day with my first package, one of the items already broke, it was clearly defective. I promptly contacted DealExtreme support, and also mentioned my other missing items. They gave me a canned response to download the drivers for my defective item, and said they’ll put a rush on the rest of my order for me. I let them know the drivers aren’t functioning and the device is malfunctioning, and they asked if I would like “store” credit or a replacement unit. I let them know that just a simple replacement would be fine. (It’s a $2.00 mini USB bluetooth adapter). I never got a response from that inquiry, no additional package for my replacement has ever been shipped to this day… That’s not even my biggest issue though.

I’m quite upset with DealExtreme about the fact that one of the items I ordered, has still not arrived to this day.

You can see in the above image my initial order date, and shipment date of the 3rd and final package (the one that’s still missing).

I logged into the tracking system today, to see that it still hasn’t even left China yet…

I tried to open another customer issue with DealExtreme, but their system allows only one issue opened at a time, and since they still have not shipped my replacement unit, I’m still waiting for that ticket to be closed.

I did append the ticket over a week ago, and still have not received any update… I’ve placed orders from DealExtreme in the past, and have never gotten my items in a timely manner, but this is just over the top, and quite unacceptable. This is most certainly my last order from DealExtreme. I’ll clearly have better luck buying items from eBay’s Hong Kong sellers rather than a supposedly established and well-respected shop.

  1. You know, although I have never received anything in a timely manner from Dealextreme, I have never had a problem with anything i have ordered being longer then a month. This is a good example, I ordered something around the same time you ordered your stuff above and I received mine a couple weeks later.

    I’ve never ordered more then two things at a time though and I’ve only ordered from there maybe a total of ten times.

    ATTENTION FOR EVERY BODY…

    if you buy something from dx, may be u will not be able to get the item YOU BOUGHT… it is happend to me…

    my parcel did not delivered… i wrote my complaint them… but nothing has happened…

    no voice from dx… i charged as well…

    • Thanks for the feedback! Glad to see other people have issues as well. I used to order from them all the time and recommend them as well, but something has changed recently that has really taken their service downhill!

        Hey, did you ever get your package? Because I’m in the same boat atm! Its been 36 days i’ve ordered a package and still at the “Transit office of exchange”. I’ve ordered other things after that one and received it without any problems, but I’m still not getting help when I contacted them about situation! And I wish it was a cheap item but I paid $15 for it!! Please tell me you got your package eventually?

          • This is why I always pay for my items with Paypal when using dealextreme, then if you do not get what you asked for you open a dispute… I have a current dispute with them for only recieving half my order, I opened a ticket with them and after 2 weeks they are still just asking me to wait longer, so I have no opened a paypal dispute to get half my money back.. I will still continue to use them however as this is the first problem I have had in 3 years

    Same here, I was waiting for 50 days for my package to arrive and when it did the item was broken. For the last two weeks I was trying to get their ticket for DOA item but as soon as I submit it the connection is terminated. I warn everybody to stay away from this bissnes.

  4. I placed an order 2 months ago and I have yet to receive anything. I tried to use their ticket system and they basically told me to go eff myself. 🙁

    I’m never buying from DX again.
